When you think of the Law of Attraction, what comes to mind?
If you’re imagining vision boards and affirmations, positive thinking and visualizing, you’re not alone. It’s common for people to implement one or all of these things, and then sit back and wait for the universe to bring them whatever it is they’re envisioning.
And in many cases, they’re surprised and/or frustrated when they don’t begin seeing the results they want to see.
The reason they’re not seeing those results, though, is not because the Law of Attraction isn’t working (as you probably know, it’s always working).
The real reason people often don’t see results when they use the Law of Attraction is that they’re missing one critical element: action.
LOA: The Old Way vs. The Effective Way
Lots of the people I talk to are still using the Law of Attraction in what I refer to as “the old way,” or the ineffective way: they’re setting up those vision boards, writing and speaking their affirmations, visualizing, meditating, hoping, praying, and … waiting.
Yes, all of those things will work as part of a more effective Law of Attraction practice, but if you don’t take action, then you simply won’t get results.
You see, the Law of Attraction requires you to take action to get that energy flowing, and in turn, to create the results you want.
Yes, feelings and thoughts and intentions are great—but action is the energy behind your intention. It’s the gas that fuels your vision.
The way you let the universe know about your deepest desire is to take consistent action that’s in alignment with it.
Here are a few examples:
If your deepest desire is to be fit and healthy, then you won’t manifest that by overeating, sleeping in every day, and skipping exercise. If you want to be fit and healthy, you must eat healthy food and exercise.
If your deepest desire is to manifest a loving, committed relationship, you can’t manifest it by closing yourself off and telling yourself that all the good ones are taken, or that you’re tool old. You must put yourself out there, go out on dates, meet people (and quickly pass on the ones who don’t match your criteria for a loving, committed relationship).
If your deepest desire is to attain financial freedom, you can’t manifest it by continuing to make poor money choices, like eating out every day, or buying yet another expensive handbag as your credit card balance increases. You must begin making wise financial decisions that actually create the kind of freedom you say you crave.
The bottom line:
The right thoughts, beliefs, and feelings definitely play a role in using the Law of Attraction successfully. But without action, you won’t create the results you want. Action is the energy behind your intention, the fuel for your vision. You must take consistent action in alignment with your desires.
